WHO

Fuller Theological Seminary - Church Planting Initiative

WHAT

The Fuller’s Church Planting Initiative created PlanterMatch, an online service to connect church planters with church planting organizations in an efficient, streamlined manner. Being brand new, the service needed a logo and website design to bring it to life. As an offshoot of the Church Planting Initiative, it had to feel like a fresh, innovative system but not necessarily disconnected from the larger Fuller identity.

HOW

I designed a logo and wordmark for PlanterMatch and placed them in the context of a website intended to guide church planters to the communities that could provide them the right assistance.

WHY

The PlanterMatch logo instantly tells the viewer who the site is intended for – church planters. The plant itself is a palm branch, reflecting Jesus' iconic entry into Jerusalem, recorded in Matthew 21. Stylized to coordinate with the church holding shape, it represents the growth and multiplication of church planting systems.

The website keeps things simple with a muted color palette and plenty of breathing room for each element. Its design intentionally supplies an easy-to-navigate interface that doesn’t intimidate first-time users, who would be likely making up a large percentage of the site’s interactions.
